Characteristics and properties: Filini Integrali combine the lightness of a very thin pasta with the goodness of whole wheat. Grinding the entire grain ensures a high fiber content, while the processing preserves elasticity and firmness. The flavor is delicate yet rich, with light notes of dried fruit and bran.
Directions: Cook the whole wheat Filini in plenty of salted water for about 3 minutes (or according to package directions). Drain and season with your favorite sauce, perhaps something simple and light to enhance the whole wheat flavor.
In the kitchen: Perfect for light yet nutritious dishes: try them with sauces made with vegetables, legumes, or extra virgin olive oil and a drizzle of lemon. They're also excellent in soups or broths, thanks to their thin shape, which lends itself well to absorbing flavors.
