Red Rooibos Tea
Red Rooibos Tea
Rooibos, also known as African red tea, is a beverage obtained by infusing the dried leaves of Aspalathus linearis, a South African shrub . The term “rooibos” means “red bush” in the local language (Afrikaans), which emphasizes the vermilion color of the beverage.
Although it is called tea, rooibos is not a true tea because it does not come from the tea plant (Camellia Sinensis) . However, it shares several characteristics with tea, such as the method of preparation (infusion of dried and chopped leaves), flavor and several nutraceutical properties .
Rooibos has a pleasant, slightly sweetish flavour, but less bitter than green tea and black tea. This is due to its modest tannin content and the absence of caffeine.
Properties: Rich in antioxidants and contains numerous beneficial substances for our body, including iron, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, zinc and vitamin C
