This Ribe wholemeal rice is grown in the provinces of Pavia, Vercelli and Novara.

Ribe brown rice has a characteristic dark color which differentiates it from the typical whiteness of refined rice.

This is due to the partial processing it undergoes in which only the outermost peels called husks, indigestible for humans, are removed.

It therefore represents a healthier and more natural alternative

Brown rice has a lower glycemic index than refined rice, which makes it more suitable for the diet of obese people, type 2 diabetics, hypertriglycerides and, in general, those suffering from metabolic syndrome.

Brown rice provides more lipids, proteins and fiber than white rice. Vitamins and mineral salts are also more abundant in whole grain rice than refined rice.

in the kitchen: Ribe brown rice is ideal for soups and soups with vegetables and legume purees, excellent as a side dish to meats and cheeses.

It can also be enjoyed alone, boiled and seasoned with extra virgin olive oil or a knob of butter. If used as risotto, it is better to add the seasoning when serving.

instructions for use: Cook the rice in water considering one part rice for three parts water. Once it reaches the boil, add salt to taste and complete cooking over moderate heat for approximately 1 hour.
